This post includes a letter originating in the United Kingdom from a supportive evangelist there. It also includes the interview I did 3 days ago on the Rabbis corrupting the Tanakh circa 100 A.D., to reduce the number of Jews converting to Christianity and to create a new Greek Old Testament to replace the Septuagint in the synagogues throughout the diaspora as the second century A.D. was getting going.
The LXX plainly showed that Jesus fulfilled messianic prophecy and as Messiah, had a mission to bring the Gentiles into the people of God. Neither were ideas that the Pharisees-cum-rabbis wanted … Read More
THE KING JAMES BIBLE PREFACE: AN AFFIRMATION OF THE PREMISES HELD BY ITS 47 TRANSLATORS.
This post is taken from Appendix 1 of REBOOTING THE BIBLE. My assumption: It matters what the 47 scholars who did the translating from Hebrew and Greek into the King James Version asserted about their work. If they acclaimed it the inerrant Word of God, we should listen. If they indicated that their work improved upon the work before and others following would improve upon theirs, we should listen.
The Preface to the King James Version (KJV) was written by these same 47 scholars. I … Read More
Within evangelicalism is a sizeable group of believers who assert that the King James Version (KJV) is the only version of the Bible that should be used by Bible-believing Christians. They argue this point for a number of reasons which we will explore in a series of posts over the next week or two. The first topic we will consider here is why KJV-ONLY advocates so ardently contend for one and only one Bible, the 1611 Authorized Version (KJV).
In essence, the issue is that this collection of believers affirm the KJV is an inspired translation, and not only that, … Read More
Depending upon what we believe about the possibility we aren’t the first highly advanced civilization on this blue globe – the third rock from the sun – we need to consider artifacts from pre-history with more than a little respect.

Admittedly, pop-archeology is trumped up and commercially exploited to ridiculous lengths. Furthermore, and unfortunately, it is wedded to extensive speculation about extraterrestrials. Additionally, it’s important to acknowledge that the marriage of aliens and the myths of antiquity offer a dangerous and deceptive alternative to conventional Theism. … Read More
Does the Septuagint provide confirmation or contradiction to Hebrew Old Testament history?
In writing REBOOTING THE BIBLE, some might suppose I am arguing that the Bible makes historical errors and therefore needs to be scrubbed of inaccuracies. That is the opposite of my message. In fact, the Septuagint is a witness that can correct any minor mistakes that have been made in the Masoretic text.
While this article doesn’t make note that the Septuagint fragments and manuscripts found in the Dead Sea Scrolls (DSS) usually favor the Septuagint’s version, mos differences in the LXX and the MT aren’t material with … Read More
