Going to War: One Man’s Personal Story


Going to War: One Man’s Personal Story, tells the story of the war experience of Lt. William C. Woodward, USA, Retired, who served in the 94th Division during the conflict in Europe from  August 1944 to May 1945. A number of battles are highlighted, including the Battle of the Bulge, the Battle of Butzdorf, and the crossing of the Saar River from France into Germany as part of General Patton’s Third Army. The stories narrate miraculous close calls and observations of the conditions in Europe during wartime. Woodward was a prime example of the “Greatest Generation.”
