INSPIRING BOOK REVIEW OF BLOOD MOON

I was captivated by an inspiring review on the Amazon site of my book BLOOD MOON:  BIBLICAL SIGNS OF THE COMING APOCALYPSE.  If you haven’t read the book, you might catch the spirit of what I was attempting to accomplish with BLOOD MOON.

I have communicated subsequent to the review with this wonderful sister in Christ.  Here are her moving and clear words.  Please enjoy.

Yes, if all you want is a stripped down, technical version of the current blood moon phenomena you will be disappointed in this book. However, if you are a born again believer and you’d like the Holy Spirit in Doug to wake up and hold a conversation with the Holy Spirit in you about a variety of aspects of the Last Days, this is an incredibly exciting book. I had “God moments” while reading this book. For example, chapter 8. I read that chapter the night before I was supposed to meet with a young woman who was bringing her Greek interlinear Bible and 4 semesters of ancient Greek training to my house to discuss aspects of II Thess. 2. Author and Bible teacher, Chuck Missler, had recommended that that chapter be read in the original Greek but I had no Greek background and no idea how to facilitate such a discussion. As I read that chapter I knew what to do. I Xeroxed copies of pages 128 to 133 , highlighted the Greek words and had an instant study plan. Will that be your “God moment?” Probably not because the Holy Spirit is tremendously creative and we are all in different places with different needs.

Doug writes conversationally with the joy of a passionate teacher and the loving heart of a humble pastor. He urges us to not “major in the minors” and to love one another as Jesus loves us. His is not a wimpy treatise but bold in declaring the Truth of the Word and the truth of the world. It is jammed full of thinking points and details to stimulate your thinking.

Last, but certainly not least, I was deeply moved by chapter 17: Obtaining the Glory of God. The “tents” of my mind and my spirit were expanded by his description of how we shall appear in glory with Jesus. It was a transcendent moment leading to deeper understanding and deeper worship of my God and King, Jesus Christ. For a long time I was still, pondering the wonder of overcoming “the bondage of corruption and obtain(ing) the glorious liberty of the children of God.” pg. 276.

When the Holy Spirit motivates and moves through a book the way He does through this one, individual parts will touch you individually. And, your overall knowledge base will be also be increased. Read it and be blessed in mind and spirit.
